Yesterday evening I saw an elapha obsoleta lying beside the fence in our yard. She was about 4 feet long. (she, I think. The tail was short.) Anyway after a few minutes she started to come to me. It was not agressive. She never hissed, musked, or draw her head back like she was going to strike. She also was'nt "tracking" me either. When she got a few inches from me I moved over and she followed me! Finally, she just turned around and climbed the fence into a tree. Is that natural for a wild rat snake? All the others we just made sure we didnt step on any.
Very strange.
