In Reply to: Green Bush ratsnakes? need info, are they really that rare? posted by Matt West on April 05, 2001 at 21:07:24:
: have seen picks and breeder listings at 1500 for a pair of hatchlings? really look neat but very much like a true Elaphe not a rat racer anyone know more about husbandry?
If a `green bush ratsnake' is Gonyosoma (Elaphe) prasina, which'd be my guess, then yeah, they're pretty rare in captivity... $750 each sounds kinda high to me, but I've really no idea what the going price is. Though... if it's `very much like a true Elaphe' maybe it's something else, as prasina looks very much like, and I believe was placed in by someone-or-another, Gonyosoma. I don't know anything about keeping these guys, but I'd presume they'd have similar requirements to G. oxycephala. *shrug*
