I keep three Obsoletas and a corn (all about 22 inches) in a 55 gallon tank,with lots of decorations,branches,hide boxes,plastic plants,ect.
I also have a 29 gallon tank with 2 Obsoletas and a corn (all about 17 inches),set up the same way.
I feed them in seperate shoe boxes and let them remain in them for an hour or two after eating.Everyone gets along just fine.Acually, they ussualy share the same hide box in the day and are all over the place at night. Its real nice and did this as a temp solution but i desided its here to stay.
You have to perform maintnance duties a lot, thats the most important issue.
I'm sure all the snakes prefer this to seperate, boring, lifeless shoe boxes. And i enjoy it much more.I never understood why hobbiests keep thier snakes in a plastic shoe box.You have to stand there with the box open to get a decent view of your animal.I personaly like sitting back on the sofa and watch these beauties in a big, natural looking enviroment. Its living furniture, and can usually beat TV.
Just my thoughts....
: Quick question:-
: Can you mix different rats snakes and corn snakes together in a single (large!) tank? If so, do I need to watch out for cannibalism etc? And can any other types of snakes (small boas/pythons for example) go into the mix as well???
