Just an observation, but many snakes at shows seem so calm and it is often because they were overwhelmingly stressed from their transfer that they are more concerned about adapting to the bumps and change than exhibiting their natural behavior. I think he is now recalling that he does not want to be scared again and needs a month or two to forget his experience. He should calm down later. I would not touch him for a month though.
