Although beauty snakes are nice looking, considering your young daughter (mine was that young once), I would chose the corn snake. Corns are the number one world's best seller for a reason, besides being inexpensive. They make great pets, and are the best handlers by far.
If you still want a beauty, I would suggest this. The Chinese beauty snake, E. t. taeniura, doesn't get as big as the Taiwans, which get huge, and your daughter probably couldn't restrain one. Chinese beauties get about 4 feet when full grown, mine do, about the length of a big corn. They are a little stiff, but can be mellowed with proper handling.
