Yes sauromates are some of the nicest animals to keep conserning behaviour and stability. There seem to be some difficulties in breeding them compared to other ratsnakes.
I have looked at your picture of the juvenile sauromates, and I don`t think it is from Bulgaria. It looks like a Russian annimal? It will be easier to tell when we can see the adult coloration.
I wish you the best of luck, and hope to see more pictures in the future. I include a pic of a adult Bulgarian sauraomates
