: i am new to this forum hoping maybe a couple of you can help me out...being a big pituophis and python fan i never paid much attention to the asian ratsnakes, well thats a lie i love mandarians and redheaded rats, recently i was just "surfin'" and saw an elaphe species i really found to be incredibly beautiful...the green bush ratsnake(e.prasina),everybody says they are rare, why is this are they just never importated or are they just rare in thier home country?which would be,where?i think i might have seen thailand wa thier home.are they difficult,to aclimate(spelling?)..being from asia i know all about worming lol!!i found one website that says they are cb but he wants 750.00 a shot!!ouch,i would rather try wc!and bushmastr(germany)has a blue one is this a natural phase or a morph?thank you for all your help and if anyone knows where to pick some up let me know..thanxs,mark
Hey Mark,
Please check out our web-site Ratsnakes of the Genus Elaphe www.kingsnake.com/korell/, here you will find some basic info on E. prasina.
Have never seen any WC E. prasina imported, there are CB available, I have seen them sell for $750-850. ea.
It's not that they are so rare, it's just being a small green snakes that mostly lives in trees and bush, it's very hard to see/find/collect !
The one on Bushmaster Breeding center, is not a morph. some of them just have some nice blue coloring.
They are a very cool snake indeed !!
The Best,
Rex
