I'm not Mr. Cherry but when you mentioned Houston zoo I had to jump in. Houston zoo still has the original leucistic TX rat. I spoke with Paul Freed three or four months ago and he said that 20 years ago he was asked if the reptile house was on fire - what would he risk his life to save??? His reply was the "porcelain god" - TX rat. The ironic thing is that they now breed the same snake to normals to produce feeders for other snakes in the collection!
