In Reply to: Can Rats and Corns mate?? posted by duffy on May 09, 2003 at 16:38:43:
I thought they were the same but I wanted to be sure. I guess it was a stupid question. LOL!
I have a pair of egyptian rats and I thought I'd pick up a pretty corn female to see if he likes her...I had heard that corns and rats can mate but then I heard that specifically egyptian rats wouldn't mate with corns. I'm terribly confused by this.
With my egyptians, the male is large enough to breed (probably 30 inches) but the female is smaller. I've been eyeing a female miami corn from a local breeder. :)
:Corn snakes are, in fact, ratsnakes. They can probably mate with many, if not most, of the north american ratsnakes. Any particular mix in mind?
::They look so much alike...they look like they could. :)
