: : ok, I need some help here. I've got 6 eggs left. Four of them aren't doing great, they are getting brown and are caving in a bit. I keep the temp at 30 degrees celcius which is right according to books. I heat the water onderneath to get the right temp and humidity. The substrate I use is vermiculite (hope you guys know what that is).
: : Ok, the question: Is the substrate too wet or is it too dry????
: Damned if I know from what you wrote here. A good ratio is one fluid ounce of water per ounce of vermiculite. That has worked fine for me (corn snake eggs and bullsnake eggs).
: What do you mean by "the water underneath?" Are you using an aquarium with water in it as an incubator? If so, watch out for cracks and pinholes in the container letting water seep into the vermiculite. Condensation from the top of the aquarium incubator may also drop into the vermiculite.

Sorry for being not clear enough. I understand what I'm trying to say here : ))
I'm using an aquarium like incubator, the lit isn't straight but at 45 degrees just to keep the water from falling on the eggs and vermiculite.
Did your eggs get a bit brown and did they cave in as well (what I mean by caving in is that they lose their tension). That's what's happening here except for two eggs, one is very white but hasn't grown at all, the other one looks good as well
