One thing that comes to mind of the top of my head is that if you stop and think about it the other way around(i.e.us here and getting asian rats etc.)we don't always get locales on them?
Lets say that way back when(mid 80s)some people in europe heard there was some bairdi comeing in,well they new they were from the u.s so west texas(or even somewhat east)was the only place they could have come from.
You mentioned locales on bulls etc...Those snakes stretch across how many states?
I guess what I am trying to say is when you are half a world away it doesn't matter what mile marker they are from as long as they are pure.
Us people(I am one of the worst)here in the u.s are very picky with OUR own locales?I would never breed a 277 bairdi to a davis mts bairdi yet I have a pair of mandarin rats and I have not a clue were they are from???????
Does this all make since?
Another good point is nobody would have cared of the locale until there was a albino produced?
Ive seen it many times,in the early stages of a rare(think of how rare bairdi must have been back then to the europeians)type of snake nobody will ask any questions cause they are just glad to be able to get there hands on them.
Once they are very well established then it becomes important as to there orgin?I now see locales on mandarins were 8 years ago it didn't matter?
Anyways,I am rambling now and I must be gone.
