Don't forget many Elaphe taeniura subspecies are temperate snakes and are programmed for hibernation. I don't know how old this animal is, but Taiwan is unique in its location and geography, and most adults are going to want to hibernate. Even in the lowlands Taiwan experiences some cold weather for at least three months. Maybe your speciman just needs a metabolic break. There is a lot of info on Taiwans if you scroll down. I believe you can hibernate them bt. 50 and 60*F for two or three months. My Chinese beauty snakes are brumating at 55*F. Good luck. TC.
