Well, then thats your own personal keeping and feeding methods. No need to say someone else is wrong for keeping and doing things another way. If it works, keep to it.. I doubt having a collection over 50+ animals over a very long period of time, and not ever having a single one have impaction problems is simply luck.. I and other people take precautions, like making sure the prey item is dry so it doesn't attract the substrate. Maybe you just had bad luck with your one... It happens. Everyone does things differently.
:Again, my point is why risk it. Maybe you have been lucky, but I have had an animal get impacted from shavings and it wasn't a mouthful, it was a small amount. Also, why would you want to stress the snake out by reaching in while it is feeding and flicking off aspen shavings? People will do what they want no matter, my point is I would much rather feed my snakes on a clean container or hide box and not risk loosing an animal
