:No need to say someone else is wrong for keeping and doing things another way.

Wait a second: Who said he was "wrong?" I started this by saying that snakes could get harmed from the ingestion of loose substrate and that he may want to consider doing it another way. All I was saying is that feeding on loose substrate isn't the safest option. If you'd rather convienience over safety, then my suggestion isn't "best" for you and is NOT what I define as "best." End of story and no feelings should be hurt over this.

However, claiming that accidental ingestion of loose substrate CAN'T lead to or NEVER HAS lead to impaction in captive animals is just a statement based on ignorance and/or denial. Hopefully, we can all recognize this fact.

: If it works, keep to it.. I doubt having a collection over 50+ animals over a very long period of time, and not ever having a single one have impaction problems is simply luck.. I and other people take precautions, like making sure the prey item is dry so it doesn't attract the substrate. Maybe you just had bad luck with your one... It happens.

I'm glad you agree that it does happen. Since this is exactly what I was saying, why the big argument? Personally, I don't think it is worth risking the small chance of impaction if it is at all possible to avoid it. (Maybe, if we really are responsible herpers as we all claim to be, we should reduce our collection from let's say 50 animals to 42 animals or something so that we have the extra time to take care of the ones we do have the BEST that we possibly can. I personally don't think having more is better than having fewer, but not having as much time to do it the best way. Too many people disagree with me here, though. Always remember the herper motto: "Saftey 8th".....LMAO)
