as they are fairly toxic in general, don't work 100% of the time, and Rat Snakes appear to be more sensitive to them than other species in my experience. I have heard of rat snakes being killed by No-Pest strips even when used in ways that other snakes were seemingly unaffected.
You should try to get yourself a can of Black Knight Roach Killer (not any other brand - those are toxic to snakes) or I have heard good things about the Provent-A-Mite spray. Don't be fooled by the junk for sale at most pet stores (although a few do carry Provent-a-mite).
I have never used Provent-a-mite, and can't speak to its efficacy, but others speak highly of it. I have used Black Knight (once) and found it to be a great product (as long as it is used sparingly). It is expensive, but worth every penny and 1 can would last you forever (especially as one correct usage will eradicate the mites forever).
You can find both if you scan down the Caging and Supplies classifieds here at Kingsnake.com.
I have also (many years ago) used Vapona (No-Pest Strips) and found that they very often don't work in eradicating the problem. You have to use them repeatedly (each time exposing your snakes to the harmful effects) and often mites still reappear.
