All but 3 of my everglades ratsnake eggs hatched 5 days ago. The other 3 eggs had not dimpled and showed no sign of hatching. I used some cuticle scissors to delicately slit the eggs. The first egg contained a fully formed stillborn with an interesting pattern. Instead of having the typical saddles down it's back it had one continuous stripe from head to tail. (Why does it seem like the still borns are always the best looking?)
I slit the other two eggs and they contained two live healthy babies. They made it out of the eggs on their own in a couple hours and seem fine. I'm always hesitant to slit eggs that are slow to hatch but I guess the gamble paid off this time.
