Sand can cause eye problems....the small particles have been known to get in the eyes. This happens alot. When I kept Beanie on sand she often kept one or the other eye closed probably because there was sand in it. I love my babies too much to put them at risk. And I was not flaming....I was simply stating a fact that leos, while they do have sand in the environment, do not actually live on pure sand (it is mostly rocky soil with some sand on or in it).
