Hi ya'll, just checking in and giving a well needed "GOOD JOB!" to all of you that have been successful with hatching the "TRUE GREAT AMERICAN SNAKE". Granted that when speaking of animals, a "PHASE" is defined as: (a genetic variant manifested by the occurrence of a skin or pelage color unlike the wild type of the animal group in which it appears....)Does this mean that there are no red throat Indigos in the wild?? Also, I Have been urking with this "red phase" thing - granted that for the "general herp public" a "phase" is an epitaph that soon passes, whats up with this? I see that "Red Phase" Indigos can fetch a hefty 700+ price while a "black phase" will normally go for $400-500??
SOOO, by acquiring a "red phase" does this mean that in the future the my 700+ snake may "phase" into a normal black and the blacks may "phase" into red?? So what Im trying to get to is: Why not call them Red throats, Red Chins, Red FACE?
OR am I totally WRONG? - somebody please school me!
ps - BTW I am the proud owner or 1.1 Easterns: Male= White Throat, Female = RED THROAT :o)
Take Care!
