I have a beautiful baby indigo (thanks to Robert Seib) and the snake is doing well; has shed once, eaten twice, etc. I'm not new to snakes, but I am new to indigos, so I keep him under different temps than my other snakes. How's this:
Daytime: Warm side is about 82, with a brief rise/peak at around 85. Cool side is kept between 70-75.
Nighttime: I turn off the supplemental heat and let the whole cage fall to the low 70's.
Am I doing okay, or do I need to make some adjustments? Thanks!

: “raise the temp. to 85 degrees”
: is a pretty standard vet response to treat snakes with infections.
: I don’t think a constant 85 is going to be good at all for an indigo.
: Maybe warm him a little, but that constant 85 is going to make him a miserable, nose-rubbing, potentially puking indigo.
: 80 I can live with, but still prefer a gradient. Let him CHOOSE to bask in 85-90 degrees. Don’t force him to .
