Ever had luck braining a f/t and getting snake to eat?

My cribo still doesn't want to take a f/t rat unless he first gets a live one. I've tested the limits of my puppetry skills to make the f/t rat look alive, but so far no luck. I was wondering if anyone has ever had luck with braining a rat and then having a snake take it? I really want to get this guy over his need for live rats.
