I thought it might be something like that, thanks for the clarification.
Would the same apply to (out of state)breeders who might bring animals to a show here in Louisiana, or can I buy from them legally on my own turf?
My personal feeling is that the safest thing to do is to get the permit regardless of where the snake is coming from. I assume that one must always and forever keep his permit for a given animal as a proof of legal acquisition?
I understand that any answers I read here are "to the best knowledge of" the answerer, and that most of us are not attorneys.
: My understanding is that if you travelled to Indiana and bought from a breeder there, you would then be breaking the law the minute you crossed state lines with that snake.
: The law is a bit confusing...but...you...not the seller would certainly be in violation.
