Carl suggested I post the answer to an inquiry I sent to Dr Jacobsen one of the references sited in "Ackerman...Reptile Husbandry" on the toxicity of Flagyl (metronidazole) in Indigos, Dr Jocobsen says its all anecdotal. This is significant, it means no actual testing was ever done, this is akin to the difference between a report or a flying saucer from someone from the mid-west ( no offence guys, we just don't see them in New York) & one on the ground in lets say Roswell. Kidding aside, with out a scientific study ( not on my Indigos, though if my Yellowtail doesn't stop biting she may be available, more kidding) the toxicity question & dosages are up in the air. I have used the lower dosage recommended in "Reptile Husbandry" and found it safe.
