Hey guys,
I don't know if you folks remember me. I asked advice back in February
on weather to purchase an indigo or not. Just a follow up, I'm so glad I did:)
The snake is indeed more fascinating and active than any boid I ever owned. its temperment,
like a puppy whos happy to see me when I come home from work!! Special thanks
to Chuck Elliot who sold her to me, she's growing like a weed, and more fun than I ever
could have imagined.
A few quick questions here for those in the know. When I purchased her, I compared her to a few
of her brothers and sisters. her head was definitly larger and very set apart from her body than
the others. Does this mean she is more likely to be on the large side?
Also, she eats like a pig. I know you guys hear stuff like this alot,
but she's barely 3 feet, and we're talking 5 to 6 fuzzies in a row, once every 7 to 10 days!!
what a pig! She looks kinda bloated (not super bad) like a sausage when she's threw. I know this is common
with boa/pythons that eat one large package, is it realy healthy tho? Should I spread out the feedings
to two times per week? hmmmmmmmm.
Finally, at 3' she's a dull black overall (shinier on the bottom obviously). Will this change as she grows?
The male indigo I remember seeing and holding at the zoo in Florida was much more shiney and vibrantly colored
all over its body, almost black metallic. Will she get like this when she grows, should I raise my humidity
or something to see more highlights? Or are females just duller snakes overall.
Thanks so much,
-jasonic
