Hello,
I want to ask your opinions...
I have found that their are few breeders of E.Is. If this snake becomes endangered the number of captive breeding pairs may not be significant to offer enough genetic diversity to keep the species healthy. I thought it would be possible to cross an Eastern I with another subspecies. After the resulting neonates mature they can be bred with an unrelated Eastern in the hope of "breeding out" as close to a pure eastern as possible. This would introduce genetic diversity and hopefully keep the easterns from going extinct...if they ever got into such trouble. Hopefuly, this will never happen...but I just wanted to see what people thought of this and if you think it would work.
