Healing a raw nose?

I'm picking a female Eastern Indigo this weekend (my first!) from a friend. Last time I saw her (about a year ago), her nose was rubbed raw. In the absence of any abrasive surfaces in her new home, I'm curious if her nose will ever return to normal. Any experience with this?
