I think you did the right thing. Kids think of things like that...since the dog was walking around, it has no owner. That is a child's logic. We all used to think like that but eventually outgrew it. Hopefully this will teach him some responsibility and allow him to grow in several areas. What makes me wonder is how the parents allowed him to keep the dog. If anyone is at fault, it is the parents and not the child. They should have been out posting FOUND posters. Andy
