That's why I decided on the herp as a reward- the kid wasn't trying to hurt anyone, and he really didn't know better. Besides, if I can turn one person towards herp keeping, so much the better.
The Mom- she's the one that deliberately tried to hide the dog. She asked if they could keep my dog, or if I had another one like it, or if I planned to breed him. She felt they had every right to keep the dog, and acted all put out by having to return the dog.
I am grateful that my dog is back, safe and secure. I suppose that should be enough for me, and just leave it alone.
