2.) My first horny toad with my dad in Eastern Oregon when I was 13. I had been drooling over horned lizards in my field guides since I was able to look at the pictures AND read the text.

5.) (Tie) My first C.ruber near San Diego in '99. The big male was over five feet long and HUGE compared to the little C.v.oreganus and lutosus I had found in OR. Tie find: My first wild rattlesnake: a C.v.lutosus in Southeastern Oregon, the only wild rattler I have ever pinned in the field.
