This snake might also be fine once you get him out of his home. Some snakes just get very possessive very quickly of their surroundings. Whatever you do, don't put your hand in front of the snake to let him smell you. They don't think like dogs and if he is hungry, he might try to eat you or he might perceive this as a threat by coming in front of him. Of course, this is just my opinion.
