I am currently in Panama and yesterday I was out in the jungle and ran into a large shiny black snake. It was very long (5-6 feet) and had a trianglular shaped body. It was shiny black with yello thin stripes every 4-6 inches. I didn't get a look at its head as I promised myself if I couldn't make a positive ID I wouldn't mess with any snakes.
Just wondering if I should kick myself for not catching it and taking a picture or did I just avoid a possible quick trip to a local hospital.
Thanks,
Axel
PS, I've seen tons of lizards, but this was the only snake so far.
