I've never had one bite me, but they will probably never tame down. They'll always be flighty. They'll only get 3"-5" long including tail. If you're afraid you can't care for it, I'd just turn it lose outside your house. It'll be able to find lots of bugs that way and it'll hide inside of your walls if it gets too cold.
