Sounds like a mediterranean gecko, sometimes called a house gecko. Did it look like the attached picture?

:A couple of weeks ago, we found a small lizard, about 2 inches head to tail, that fell from the ceiling in our upstair room. It was pale, light beige in color with small spots and possibly bands around the tail and very fast! I caught it and released it outside. Today we found a similar lizard in our bathroom. It, too was very small, less than two inches. I caught it and released it outside. Well tonight, I saw on our wall in our front room a larger lizard that was the same coloring as the other two. This lizard is about 4 inches long from head to tail. We have not caught it yet, and I am concerned that our home is being overrun with lizards. Are they harmless? How do we get rid of them? I am concerned because we have two small children. The lizard looked similar to one of the small gecko pictures you had posted from an earlier message. Please let me know what I can do and how concerned I should be. Thanks!
