Adder colour variation.

Does anyone know if there's been any work done on adder colour morphology in the UK? (or anywhere else for that matter). I am currently involved in the production of a photographic field guide to UK reptiles and of course adders vary enormously. Any work at all in this area will be of interest. Many thanks, Lee.
