This is my first long term captive of this species and I was wondering how large I should expect one to be at around 8 mo. Mine is about 16 in and has 5 segments on his rattle. Ive been feeding him 1-2 appropriately sized mice per week. Is this enough? Should he be bigger/ eating more?
Ill get some pics up this week after I get my film delveloped.
One more thing I just remembered...This is a question for others who keep this snake. How much time do yours spend out of hiding? Mine is under his log about 98% of the time. When I feed him, I simply put the pre killed prey at the entrance of his den and and wait a few hours before I come back to check on it. Its almost always gone, but I never get to see any action;-(. Oh well. Maybe when he gets bigger hell be more secure and stay out more.

Thank you,
Michelle
