Moving problem...

I am planning to get a uromastyx soon. I have arelative in edmonton that will give us discounts cuz he owns a pet store.....So were going to buy our stuff there. But Im going to move to calgary. Were going to set our tank in calgary, drive back, buy a uro and bring him there.... Its about a 3 hour trip... Should I do this, and if so, how should I bring him? (ice packets, hot water bottles?)
