River rd Report: April 13, 2002

Thought I'd try a sortie out to River Rd Sat: Report: Weather was off n on rains til dusk. Just South of Redmond 1st snake of season: dor Suboc. While checking suboc (bout 4'), observed in headlights a 4+' aor atrox crossing the rd. 1/4 mile later: 1 dor atrox, bout 3'. This was approx 10pm, nothing else seen either River Rd or 118. (Com'on ya'll Texas herpers..ya gonna let an Oregonian outherp ya... T. Dean, Rod or Mike?!!) If it wasn't confirmed that Hollister was home Sat night I'd hafta almost swear the dead-on tire hit on the atrox's head was the work of some driver (in a Lincoln) not paying attention! :P
