I saw a nice large turtle yesterday getting ready to cross
the road in an area that many turtles are and he was fine.
(nobody ran over him, luckily most people here will actually
stop and help - but they get across fine if people are careful.)
Saw another one (same one!) just a few days ago also, same
area.
On the Island - Oak Island, NC sea turtle egg laying season
will start soon, last year almost 6000 hatchlings were released
into the water! Hopefully a few of the little rascals will
make it back in 10-15 years to lay their own eggs! Unfortunantly
most won't make it, some might get eaten by people even! argh!
But some WILL MAKE IT BACK! Gotta keep up some hope. :)
