Alright I have kept turtles in the past, nothing special eastern painteds mostly and have successfully bred those. I would like to get back into turtles and interested in the Blandings Turtles. But being a larger turtle and more terrestrial I have decided I would like to keep them outside in a pond that I would build. I have tried looking for care online and on this forum and can not find much at all. Right now I basically just have basic questions about their husbandry needs. I have read that they are for the most part a carnivorous turtle and a poor swimmer thus shallow gradual increases are needed in the pond. I was reading a couple posts down where Blandins are mentioned about keeping with Spotteds and all that is mentioned is need more room but does not say how much more.

How many square feet of pond and land should I have for a 1.2 group?

Any other general thigns I should know...just getting general info at this time as I am not sure how serious I am bascially need to know their spacial requirements first.

Thank You - Eric
