I go to school at 8 am and get back at 2 pm, is it ok if i just turn on the lamp when i am home and awake? and just leave near window wen im not home or sleeping? :hey again hehe. I answered your heat question. You should have a heat lamp. The hot spot should be around 95F and the cool spot should be around 70F or so. Dont worry about it melting the plastic. As long as it isnt touching the plastic it wont hurt it at all. I have one and mine hasnt burned or melted any of the plastic. Just keep it a little bit away from the edge and it will be fine. ::I have gotten some good reponses for the topic i posted last night from cagrlalwys and kanuck, but i am still wondering about some things, Is there way i dont need any heat appliances? I will keep in an area between 2 large windows. I live in So Cal so the average night morning temperature lowest are 55 and noon to afternoon around 76. If i do need a heat lamp, could i just leave on when im home? I go to school from 8 in morning till 2 in afternoon. One last question, anyone buy from prehistoricpets.com? because I live near it and went to it, and know its not captive bred, but I dont know any captive bred tortoise sellers, should I buy from there? can anyone tell me a good online or so cal store that sells quality Russian TOrtoises. Thank you, all help is deeply appreciated by me. by the way, anyone have Aol instant messenger that i can chat with about tortoises? just leave ur sn here i guess.
