Hello Brian
my Russian torts have been outside for 7 years and have been breeding for the past 5, now here is the kicker....I live in southern Michigan and it gets quite cold up here. The torts hibernate under my garage and have just come out of hibernation about 3 weeks ago. they have tunnels like mini gopher torts
also keep in mind where they come from its colder and harsher there.
