With the rarity and wild status of most species of tortoise it is unwise to hybridize. I am not sure if any will, but since there is no way to sterilize the offspring, it is not advised to produce "mutts"
:i'm wondering about interbreeding certain species. especially russians. what types of torts can interbreed ? a russian cross hybrid may keep some of the ruggedness while adding some color traits of another tort. i'm thinking maybe hermans or golden greek. something along the compact economy line. any thoughts???
