It's good to hear that he's developed a taste for mice. How did you get him started eatting them? (I remember you saying he didn't like them awhile ago). One of mine doesn't like them very much either he eats only 2 weanlings (size before large adults) a day but he'll eat allot more of the other stuff I feed him after that. My other one loves them at 10 a day plus other stuff. I'm going to switch to large mice after I finish off my last doz or so weanlings, I'll tell you how much he eats then. 6 a day sounds good to me he must be growing fast! If he started looking really fat you might want to feed more fruit instead of mice.
