16 in......argentine lost in house.. help....

just got a new 16 inch argentine tegu and was keeping him in a horse troft in our screen porch... its 2 feet tall ( i heard a troft didnt need a screen lid because it was two feet high) but some how he got out 2 times but i found him in the screen porch both times. two nights ago someone left open the door to the house..... he didnt come out yesterday so i thought he was just burying himself and when he didnt come out again today i got worried so i looked through the whole entire troft and i know he is not there.... not in the porch either... so the only place he could be is in my two story house!!
please does anyone have any suggestions as how to find him?
