:try to set up heat lamps throughout the house. i've never tried this with a tegu but it has worked every single time with treefrogs/anoles/water dragons and stuff like that. i'd also try to keep most the lights out whenever possible. i'd say 1 or two extra desk lamps on the ground would probably do the trick. good luck, hope you find it!
