In this case, size does matter. :0). You do not want any smaller and I would advise a 6'x 30" x 24" tall for one. Switching cages latter on only stresses them and places them back in a acclimation period for a bit.

:what is the smallet tegu avalible? are there any that can be kept in a 75 gal(4', 20" or 24", 20" i think are the measurments) for there whole life. or at least for a good amount of it. my local breeder has a black and white and he said it can be kept in a 75 gal for its whole life. is this true?
