:Hi I am by no means newto reptiles but I am new to tegus, I have been having trouble finding info on these lizards and have a few questions. I have kept large lizards be for like an green Iguana 5.5 feet still have him I want to now is a tegu harder to take care of then a Iguana and what size cage is good for one. oh and what is the best type to get thanks.

iguanas are easy so...things to think about...tegus should have for at least a good part of their diet whole foods..also lots of deep substraight..my iguana's cage is 7'high..so are my tegus but they realy like the ground so i have wasted space..the height does allow for easily accessible cages..their both neat animals..and don't mind paying more from a good breeder..hope this helps...billy
