:I just made a new enclosure for my Arg. B&W. I stained the exterior and also the inside of the top for what reason I don't know. I thought it would dry and the smell would go away but the smell is still pretty strong after being dry for over a week. This might be a dull ?, but will this smell be harmful to the tegu?
Hey I do not have a tegu but im thinking about one and investigating all the properties of owning one . I do however have a couple of blue tongue skinks and I just recently ( 4 months ago) made a new enclosure for one of them. It had the smell of poly for a couple of days even after I let it sit for a week and a half after drying. My suggestion is this let it dry for at least a week and then test it with heat involved for a week before introducing the animal. I got a suggestion from another forum where I was tiold to put a glass cup on the surface that your concerned about for a day . then quickly move the glass and smell inside it .... If the inside of the glass still has the smell then its not ready
Joey, IM no expert but maybe this will help
