This is directed at those who claim expertise on this group, in particular S Thomson and R Wells (who obviously do) and others I may have overlooked. Also I have not read all the cluster of messages below, so if I have duplicated material below, please accept my apologies.
IN Monitor 9(1) (I think that was the issue), Cann named a tortoise E. irwini. I think that in one of the Wells and W. papers in the 1980's they named something similar from FN Qld somethign else, the name of which escapes me.
My burning questions are:
1/ What was the W and W name.
2/ Are they one and the same species.
3/ If not why not.
and
4/ If yes, does this make E. irwini an invalid junior synonym.
(Fot those unaware, there had been formerly lumped within E. dentata, which I kept for many years when in Sydney).
