Taxonomic changes in Elaphe complex - - Any thoughts?

What is the general opinion of taxonomists on taxonomic changes in the Elaphe complex recently published in the paper "Phylogenetic Relationships Of Old World Ratsnakes Based on Visceral Organ Topography, Osteology, and Allozyme Variation" by Notker Helfenberger (published in a "Supplement to the Russian Journal of Herpetology", ISSN 1026-2296)?
