never heard that particular story, if you are asking if it is possible, yes, it is a definite (albeit remote) possibility. Anaphalaxis is a severe allergic reaction to a foreign protein. Some people react violently when stung by bees (life threatening) others do not. On the off chance you are one of these people, and you are bitten by a snake hard enough to break the skin and saliva (venom = modified saliva) is introduced into the wound, this could be fatal without proper treatment. By the way, I have seen someone and personally have had a reaction to Heterodon platyrhinos bites. Hope that helps.
